Perspective leaders rarely get access to.

I’ve been on both sides of the table — the investor’s side and the founder’s side. That dual vantage point is what I bring to every engagement.

Why Flore exists

Most advisory relationships offer one of two things: a framework delivered from a distance, or execution support that doesn’t engage with the real problem. Flore was built around a different premise: that the leaders who most need support are the ones navigating the problems that don’t fit neatly into either category.

The decisions that define a company’s next chapter are rarely clean. They’re gooey — tangled with people, capital, timing, and stakes that are hard to separate. That’s where I do my best work: in the complexity, on a sustained basis, on the actual substance of what you’re trying to figure out.

I don’t develop you as a leader. I work with you on the problem.

My approach is empathetic, strategic, and results-driven. I don't just provide frameworks, I walk alongside you as you build a business that reflects your values and amplifies your impact.

Let's build something meaningful together.

About Anika Penn

FOUNDER & CEO, FLORE ADVISORS

Anika Penn is a strategic advisor to founders, CEOs, and senior leaders on their highest-stakes decisions. She founded Flore Advisors to provide the kind of sustained, substantive thought partnership that growth-stage leaders rarely have access to, grounded in real experience on both sides of the capital table.

Her background spans late-stage investing at Baillie Gifford, where she evaluated growth companies from the capital side; co-founding Frontier Health, a global marketplace for medical devices; an Entrepreneur-in-Residence role supporting women-led startups on business models and fundraising readiness; and service on the Board of Trustees at Johns Hopkins University.

She is the child of entrepreneurs. That context, the emotional texture of building, the weight of decisions made without a clear playbook, shapes how she shows up for every client.

Where the perspective comes from

  • Late-stage private equity at Baillie Gifford, evaluating growth companies from the capital side. Board observer at portfolio companies throughout her tenure.

  • Co-founder & CEO of Frontier Health, a global marketplace for frugal medical devices. Built from zero in a complex, cross-border market.

  • Board of Trustees, Johns Hopkins University. Past President of the JHU Alumni Association.

  • The child of entrepreneurs, with a lifelong understanding of what it means to build something from nothing.

What this means for the leaders I work with

  • An investor’s eye on your situation. I know what’s being evaluated on the other side of the table because I used to sit there.

  • Substance, not platitudes: I work on the actual problem with you, reviewing documents, shaping responses, preparing you for the conversations that matter.

  • Empathy without softness, twenty years at the intersection of capital and entrepreneurship means I understand the emotional experience of building. I bring honesty with warmth.

  • Judgment you can trust. No templates, no frameworks for their own sake. Every engagement is shaped by the specific texture of your situation.

“Clarity, calm, forward motion.”

That’s what I’m here to help you find, not as a slogan, but as a practical outcome. When the work goes well, you leave our sessions knowing what you’re doing next and why.
